Basic Background info
Dec. 31st, 2013 12:26 amAnniastae Lameth (pronounced LAmeth) is one of a set of twin daughters born to a Hume and Mithra couple after the Great War. While her father is a Hume, all of her Mithra genetic traits have run dominant, and her lineage is difficult to discern save by those with proper training, such as the homeland's Sin Hunters. As far as life goes in the Middle Lands however, she might as well be a normal full breed.
Her father was a Far Easterner who was doing his part for the war effort. Her mother was a member of the Bastok special forces as a monk. After the war, the pair retired to Selbina to raise their daughters, Anniastae and Xingsan. Her father had to leave soon after however, returning to his homeland to investigate some strange occurrences which would later be known as some of the earliest instances of the encroaching Emptiness. Though she missed him, their mother understood where his duty lay and the parting was amicable and respectful.
Anniastae trained with her mother for a time, learning some rudimentary martial arts, but she found more favor in fishing. While fishing, she also learned the basics of wielding a spear. This training was the first step along the path that would eventually take her to becoming a Dragoon. When it came time for her and her sisters (Xingsan, and their younger half sister Miiranora) to embark on adventurers, Anniastae was the one who pushed them to journey to Windurst.
As time passed, Anniastae followed many paths, learning to dabble in assorted forms of combat and magic. Her preference remained in her spear and she eventually uncovered the secrets of the Dragoon. She continued her journey with her wyvern Milo until she came to realize she needed to hone her finesse in combat. While still keeping Milo by her side as much as possible, she trained with the Samurai in Norg. She also dabbled briefly in the the Dark Knight styles of fighting, but not to any serious degree. However, this opened her heart to wanting more power, which eventually caught the eyes of the Immortals of Aht Urghan, who forced her to become one of their own.
She maintains the fluid combat lifestyle most adventurers enjoy but the guises of the Dragoon, Samurai and Blue Mage are her favored ones.
She is an excitable and energetic young woman, and like most Mithra she finds some of her greatest pleasures in the middle of a brawl. She also tends to be fairly reckless, and while she will not charge into an unwinnable situation, she has picked more than her fair share of uneven fights before realizing how tipped the scales are. The scar across the bridge of her nose is both a trophy and a reminder that she picked up at an early age when she accidentally lead her sisters into a fight they shouldn't have been in. Their mother was the one who saved them and killed the goblin who inflicted the wound. She has gained the nickname The Red Lady from both the color of her hair, and the frequency in which she will return home covered in blood, most of it thankfully not her own.
As her Blue Mage training would imply, she does let her more bestial instincts run free, but she's managed to keep them under control. She would never turn her blade on an innocent, but she will not hold back when it comes to kicking in the teeth of those who have it coming. She mostly lets her aggression loose on monsters in the wild or in a lively barfight back in town, even if she has to stumble back home to lick her wounds when the night is done.
She's actually fairly modest of her involvement in the assorted adventures that have saved Vana'diel time and again. Most of her actual fame comes from word of mouth of the different quests she has done, and her mercenary work in both the Middle Lands and in Aht Urghan where she is a Captain in Salaheem's Sentinels. There has been rumor that her name has also appeared in the honor roll among Romaa Mihgo's elite Cobra Unit during the Great War, but it's likely just a coincidence.
